Julie Shearn - with her prize Shetlands

Picture
Just half a mile from Hebden Bridge and with stunning views over the Calder Valley rests our beautiful small farm.
We purchased ¾ three-quarters of an acre here in 1998 and that was the beginning of our dream: to create an organic, permaculture-inspired, sustainable smallholding that demonstrates the principles of resilience.
In the beginning, we established a permaculture forest garden, growing fruit, veg and unusual oriental vegetables. Then in 2003 we expanded to 20 acres and added rare-breed Shetland sheep and chickens.
We sell our prize-winning  wool, wool products, speciality lamb and other home-grown produce direct from the farm, and a number of local retail outlets.
We have a great love and respect for the environment and we adhere to organic and sustainable farming practices in order to create the highest quality produce and to preserve the quality of our land for future generations.
Sharing our knowledge of permaculture, organic and sustainable farming is one of our greatest joys, and we will be offering further volunteer and education opportunities for people who are keen to learn more about these farming practices.
We welcome visitors to our farm by appointment and encourage people to travel to us, where possible, by foot, bike or bus. For further information about us, our farm and our produce, please look around our website. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
